According to Dictionary.com, a legendary person is one who is extremely well known; famous or renowned. How cool would it be to achieve the status of a legend? This year district convention, held in Prattville, AL, will help you discover what it really means to be a legend!
District Convention 2009 will be 57th Annual Alabama District Convention, and it is promising to be incredible! Along with the opportunities to meet new people, establish friendships, and make unforgettable memories, you will be offered the chance to enter in contests and participate in workshops and dances!
You, and your club, will have the opportunity to compete in a 30- or 60-second club video, club skit, and scrapbook contests. You, as the individual club member, will be eligible for the oratorical, talent, poster, and impromptu essay contests. If you win, you will receive a beautiful trophy presented in front of nearly five hundred of your peers on Celebration Night, as well as the satisfaction of a job well done!
There will be learning opportunities as well! You will have the chance to learn how to perform your duties as an officer or as a general member! Workshops will be offered on a variety of topics, including UNICEF, March of Dimes, Childrens Miracle Network, Project Swap, Public Speaking, College Success and many, many more! This year we will also be having a special round of workshops to focus on the new Strategic Vision Plan for The Great Alabama District.
District Convention will leave you exhausted, exhilarated, thrilled, and filled to running over with love for community service, your friends, and your club. Join us this year at the Legends Marriott Hotel in Prattville, AL, on the weekend of March 27-29, 2009. You will discover that you are a legend.
